Hello!

My name is Melissa, I'm a proud mama of two young babies, and engaged to the man who supported this little business when I needed it most.

A little about me, I currently have 3 diagnosed autoimmune diseases and diagnosed general anxiety. I am no stranger to depression and have had spouts of anxiety attacks. Due to the autoimmune diseases, I struggle with fatigue, exhaustion, chronic pain, and brain fog on a daily basis. 

My medical story began when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 16 years old. A few years later my liver started acting up and I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. My family suffered a tragic accident when I was in my early 20's and my Ulcerative Colitis flared, however this flare started showing inflammation in my small intestine. My diagnosis changed from Ulcerative Colitis to Crohn's Disease. Around this time I was having extreme back pain and stiffness, with multiple joints locking and becoming involved as well. This diagnosis was Ankylosing Spondylitis via MRI.

My journey has been constant. Constant blood work, liver testing, yearly MRI's and colonoscopies. My mental health has taken a beating through this journey, but somehow I always come up on the other side. 

This shop was created when my mental health was at its absolute worst. My infant son was not sleeping and going through medical problems. I was sleep deprived, my anxiety got so bad I was having frequent anxiety attacks, I was depressed and couldn't see an end. This shop was my distraction, it gave me so much happiness and pulled me through. I wanted to find a way to support not only my family by earning an extra income, but my community as well. Due to how the overall creation of u ok? came about, I decided to support the Canadian Mental Health Society.

I will be donating 10% of our profits on the yearly anniversary of this shop being created.
